How it works
Numerology assigns every letter a value from the Pythagorean chart (A is 1, B is 2, up to I, then the cycle restarts at J). Your destiny number adds every letter of your name; your soul urge adds only the vowels; your personality adds only the consonants. Each sum is then reduced digit by digit to a single number, with one exception: 11, 22 and 33 are "master numbers" and stay as they are. The working is shown under each number, and the chart below values every letter.
One fine point we handle the traditional way: y counts as a vowel only in a name with no other vowel, so Lynn's y is a vowel and Mary's is not.
An honest word: this is a parlour game with very old math, not a measurement of anything. We compute it exactly and read it lightly, and we suggest you do the same.
